The Manx Missile has confirmed he will compete in the road race at the British National Championships at the end of the month.
It's a title Mark Cavendish has never won, and will also form part of his final preparations for the Tour de France.
The event takes place in Northumberland on June 26.
Cavendish's entry was expected for the road race, but he has sprung a surprise by also saying he'll take part in the Leazes Criterium two days before that.
His fellow Manxman Peter Kennaugh was second in the road race last year, third in 2009 and second in 2008 and is again targeting a podium finish in this year's event.
