Solos and sidecars out across the Island this weekend
A busy field of more than 250 competitors is expected to take on the Manx Two Day Trial this weekend.
Both solo and sidecar participants will battle it out across multiple stages across the breadth of the Isle of Man this Saturday and Sunday (11-12 July).
Among the key names expected to be involved in the Solo Expert class will be Manx trials sensation, Kaytlyn Adshead; three-time event champion, Barry Kinley and his nearest competitor last year, Chris Madigan.
Meanwhile, several local riders will be turning out in the Solo Clubman category including Nigel Sharp, Corey Peters and Aleyn Taggart whilst Sheffield man, Darren Wasley is tipped to be the man to beat in that event.
Elsewhere, a new champion will be crowned in the Sidecar class - among the Isle of Man crews to contest the class will be the pairings of Will Caine & Sam Baxter; John Corlett & Harry Gell as well as Trevor Moore & Jimmy Davidson.
For solo riders, the action will get underway at 8am tomorrow (11 July) at Douglas Rugby Club befor the first observed section on the gasworks steps at South Quay, Douglas.
That will be followed by groups at Knock Froy (9am); Old Stoney Mountain Quarry (9.45am); South Barrule Quarry (10.30am) and Carnagrie before a lunch break.
Following the break will be further stages at The Stacks (12.30pm); Pooil Vaaish (2pm); Scarlett (2.30pm); Billown Glen (3pm); Chibbanagh Plantation (4pm) before returning to Douglas Rugby Club.
On Sunday for the solos, the competition heads north to Ballachrink, Snaefell Gulley and Ballaugh Plantation (10am) before the afternoon takes in Ballure (12pm); Snubbies Glen (1pm); Laxey Beach (2pm); Axnfell (2.30pm) and Sir George's Bridge Quarry before again returning to Douglas Rugby Club.
For sidecar competitors, it'll run in opposite directions to solos - on Saturday, an 8.45am start will be followed by stages at Creg Moto-x Track (9.45am); Conrhenny Plantation (10.20am); Ballacrooin (10.40am), Glen Roy Mines (11.30am); West Baldwin Bridge (1.30pm) and Bims Field (2.45pm).
Sunday for the sidecars will include phases at Chibbanagh Plantation (8.45am); Archallagan Plantation (9.25am); Old Stoney Mountain Quarry (10.15am); Billown Glen (11.15am); Scarlett (12.15pm); Knock Froy (1.50pm); Port Soderick (3pm) and then finishing at the gasworks steps at South Quay (4pm)
