Nine sprint stages as he goes for record
Isle of Man cycling superstar Mark Cavendish sees ample opportunities for stage wins at the 2017 Tour de France.
The route was released yesterday and has three summit finishes and two short individual time trials.
The Manx Missile says the stages are either mountainous or sprints and experts predict as many as nine stages have the potential to end in a sprint.
Cavendish won four stages at this year's event to take his career tally to 30 - just four short of equalling the record of Eddy Merckx.
