Champs edge closer to retaining titles

Vikings A took a major step towards securing the runners-up spot in the PWC Men’s Premier League on Saturday.

They saw off Valkyrs A 6-2 to put them in pole position for second place.

Steve Underwood (two), Steve Crowe, Neil Crowe, Jon Verrall and Macklin Wilson were the marksmen.

Reigning champions Bacchas A maintained their 100 per cent record and are now just a game away from retaining the title after seeing off Castletown A.

Andy Vernon-Browne (two), Jamie Brown, Craig Leece, James Harrison, George Harrison and Dave Whiting were on target in a 7-0 win.

Bacchas B eased their relegation fears with a 4-2 success over bottom club Ramsey A.

The Harrison brothers were on target again for the B team along with Karl Moore (two).

It’s seven wins out of seven for Vikings A in the PWC Women’s Premier League.

The champions saw off Harlequins A 12-0. Kim Carney and Kirsty Cooper were the stars with six and five goal hauls respectively.

Mia Greenwood added the other.

Ramsey A put four past Castletown A without reply to stay second – Vicky Garner, Cristina Kermeen and Leah Morgan (two) scored the goals.

Bacchas A edged out Valkyrs A by a solitary goal from Sophie Hudson.
