Old Boys lose ground in the battle for fourth
St George's have moved five points clear at the top of the Canada Life Premier League.
They eased past St John's 3-0 this afternoon.
A Sam Cain brace and a delightful free kick from Jonny Myers was enough to secure all the points at Glencrutchery Road.
Elsewhere, Laxey fought off a brave fightback from Old Boys as they made significant ground in the battle for fourth spot.
Two second half goals from Old Boys proved too little too late as first half goals from Fraser Vaughan (2) and Sean Kelly gave Laxey a comfortable 3-0 advantage.
Mark Kelly scored twice as Peel thrashed Douglas Athletic 5-1 at Springfield Road.
Ashley Webster, Kerron Christian and Dominic McGreevey also got their names on the scoresheet for the away side, with Darren Shields grabbing a consolation goal for the hosts after the break.
Rushen piled more misery on struggling Ayre.
They went back down the A18 with all three points after putting nine (9) past the relegation favourites.
The Tangerines now boast a league worst -73 goal difference following a rampant win for Rushen.
Steve Riding (2), Jack Saxon (2), Mike Williams, Matthew Lamb, Harry Best, Jamie Johnston and Jack Snidal all found the net in a heavily one-sided encounter.
