Peel in battle to beat drop

Corinthians made it 14 wins from 15 played, but only after a big battle with Ayre at Ballafletcher, to stay top of Football's Canada Life Premier League.

Ayre equalised twice with a spirited performance against the leaders but were undone by a Sean Doyle penalty 2 minutes from time.

Rushen stay 10 points back in second spot with 2 games in hand after a thumping 6-0 victory at home to Douglas Athletic.

Aaron Hawley led the way with a hat-trick.

Champions St. Mary's were beaten 3-1 on the road at Laxey.

St. Georges are just a point behind in fourth after a 4-1 success against Ramsey despite playing for much of the game down to 10 men.

Marown recorded a vital and impressive win at home beating Douglas Athletic 6-1 to move away from the relegation scrap.

Bottom side St. Johns defeated the side nearest to them with a late winner from Callum Taggart to beat western rivals Peel 1-0.
