Manx side faced fellow Islanders and Brazil in UK over three days
The Isle of Man women's national cricket team took victory over fellow Island side, Jersey during the Manx side's latest series of T20 international matches.
Competing in Leeds from Sunday, 31 August to Tuesday, 2 September, day one saw the Isle of Man suffer a ten-wicket defeat to Brazil.
They faced Brazil again on Monday (1 September) with the Isle of Man's opponents again going on to win, this time by a 105-run margin.
But the Manx side saved their best display until last as on Tuesday (2 September) they managed to overcome Jersey by seven wickets and with 35 balls remaining.
The opening contest for the Isle of Man against Brazil proved a challenging one with the Isle of Man restricted to just 37 runs - the Isle of Man's opponents would require just under four overs to overhaul that total.
A day later, the two nations would meet again, this time with Brazil first into bat and setting a benchmark of 145-6 across the 20 overs with the Isle of Man's standout bowling display coming from Catherine Perry who registered 2-24.
In response, the Isle of Man could only muster 40 runs before being bowled out with Perry again the most notable performance, managing seven runs.
The Manx team had been due to face Jersey first on Monday morning, however, that match was abandoned meaning both Island nations would have to wait until the next day for their meeting.
Jersey were first into bat in Tuesday's showdown, recording 115-7 after 20 overs during an innings which saw the Isle of Man's Alanya Thorpe take four wickets with teammates Lucy Barnett, Georgina Ford and Joanne Hicks also a wicket each.
When it was their turn to bat, the Isle of Man went on to surpass Jersey's total with just over 14 overs played.
Barnett produced the pick of the batting displays with a near half-century of 48 whilst Libby Moore (20), Caitlin Henery (24 not out), Clare Crowe (7) and Rachel Overman (1 not out) also made contributions to the Isle of Man's eventual win.
Away from the results, Isle of Man Cricket Association is also congratulating Hicks on receiving a 25 Isle of Man red cap during the team's match with Brazil on Sunday.
