Island player tops several international standings this week (23 Apr)

Isle of Man cricketer Lucy Barnett has set multiple women's T20i international cricket records this week.

Following the Isle of Man women's team's participation in the Cyprus quadrangular series on Easter weekend, Barnett has become the fastest women's T20i player to reach 1000 runs.

Her record of reaching that target in 26 innings is quicker than the previous record set by Tanzania's Fatuma Kibasu of 30 back in December 2022.

Furthermore, at the time of this publication (23 April) Barnett now also tops the women's T20i international standings for the highest career batting average in T20 format of 59.64.

The next nearest to that is Beth Mooney of Australia on 42.26.

In addition, Associate Women in Cricket reports the Island player is the youngest to reach 1000 T20 runs at 18 years and 196 days and also holds the highest strike rate off of 500 or more balls of 142.21.

Sharing the news, Isle of Man Cricket says it's 'incredibly proud' of Barnett's achievements.

During last weekend's event in Limassol, Barnett was also named Player of the Tournament and Batter of the Tournament hitting 272 runs and taking five wickets.
