Hundreds of talented riders on Island for the next three days
Hundreds of the biggest upcoming talents in cycling will be part of the 2025 Isle of Man Youth & Junior Tour which starts today (2 May).
The three-day challenge runs across this Bank Holiday weekend from Friday, 2 May to Sunday, 4 May featuring rising talents in the sport from the Isle of Man, UK and further afield.
It's also been a platform for some of the Isle of Man's World Tour stars in the past including Sir Mark Cavendish, Peter Kennaugh, Lizzie Holden and Anna Christian.
Co-organiser of the event Rob Holden says it offers a 'unique' opportunity for young riders who may not otherwise get elsewhere during the season:
The first round of the tour will consist of a time trial event on Douglas Promenade this evening (2 May) - as a result, Loch Promenade walkway between bottleneck car park and war memorial will be shut from 3pm until 10pm.
Tomorrow sees competitors take on the Ellerslie road circuit with numerous road closures planned in and around the Foxdale and Braaid areas between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
The third and final day involves a series of events on a course in and around the Jurby region with a series of road closures again scheduled, this time between 10am and 4.30pm.
