Two riders made top 10 on first outing with team second overall
Cycling Club Isle of Man made a strong start in their competitive debut yesterday (15 June) as two of their riders finished in the top 10 on the first day of the prestigious Cairde Ras Tailteann.
The Manx side's first outing saw them take on a 140km stage from Tallaght in Dublin to Horse and Jockey in Tipperary.
For the Island team, James Harrison took sixth position in the bunch sprint to the finish line with Adam Kelly finishing ninth.
Harrison now sits 13th in the overall classification and ten seconds behind leader Matthew Teggart of the Cycling Ulster team due to bonus seconds earned by other riders in the intermediate sprints.
Wednesday's results mean Cycling Club Isle of Man sits second in the overall standings and level on points with classification leader, Trinity Racing, going into today (16 June).
Today's second stage is taking competitors over a 154km route from Horse and Jockey to Castleisland.
