Cycling: Holden named in UAE Team ADQ Tour de France Femmes squad

26-year-old one of two Manx riders taking on Women's WorldTour event

Isle of Man pro cyclist Lizzie Holden looks set to compete at this year's Tour de France Femmes.

The 26-year-old is listed in the UAE Team ADQ lineup on the tour's official website with the prestigious Women's WorldTour event due to start next Monday (12 August) and run until next Sunday (18 August).

She will be one of two Isle of Man riders taking part in the race along with Becky Storrie who was confirmed in the Team dsm-firmenich PostNL team in the last week.

As of this month, Holden will have taken part in every Tour de France Femmes since its inception in 2022.

In 2023, she finished 59th in the overall individual standings with her current team and ended the event 36th overall in 2022 with her former side Le Col Wahoo.

The Island-born athlete's last competitive appearance was at this year's Giro D'Italia Women last month.

Currently listed alongside her in UAE Team ADQ's tour squad are Silvia Persico, Alena Amialiusik, Sofia Bertizzolo, Mikayla Harvey, Erica Magnaldi and Karlijn Swinkels.
