Last-gasp Ramsey take points
Douglas’ campaign in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One got off to a great start when they won 21-18 at Liverpool St Helens on Saturday.
They lost 23-16 at the same venue back in April and have obviously made good progress over the summer.
Cal Randle, Liam Kirkpatrick and Luke Hyland all crossed for tries for Douglas with the ever reliable Bryn Snellgrove kicking two penalties.
Meanwhile, in Division Three, last gasp Ramsey also took the spoils on the road.
They got off to a winning start at Liverpool University, defeating the student team 13-10 after debutant Chris Hardisty raced in for a try with the very last play of the game which Scott Kneale converted.
Until that point Ramsey were trailing 10-6 with only two Scott Kneale penalties to show for their efforts.
