In EuroManx South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Three, Douglas stayed top of the table with a scrappy 14-3 win over bottom side Prenton.
In a game dominated by the heavy conditions, Douglas started sharper and following a try by Andy Hollis and a Bryn Snellgrove penalty, they were 8-3 up at the break.
The expected Prenton second half cave-in never happened and Douglas had to be content with two more Snellgrove penalties in the second half to see them safely home.
