A former president of the Manx National Farmers' Union has announced he will stand in this year's general election, in the constituency of Middle.
Howard Quayle, of Ballavitchel, Crosby, was the union's public face and spokesman between 2005 and 2010.
He says the Isle of Man has been good to him and he wants to give something in return.
Mr Quayle was a civil servant in the Treasury and the planning section of the former Department of Local Government and the Environment, before working in the finance sector for the NFU Mutual Insurance Group and Clerical Medical.
He then followed his father into farming.
With around seven months to go to polling day, there are already three candidates for the single seat in Middle.
The others are sitting member Martyn Quayle and Liberal Vannin Candidate Juan Cottier.
