FC Isle of Man boss 'fully expects' response at FC St Helens

FC Isle of Man's manager says he 'fully expects' a positive response to defeat at the weekend when they return to action in the NWCFL Premier Division this evening (13 August).

The Manx side are on their travels at newly-promoted FC St Helens tonight in the first of six consecutive away fixtures with kick-off at the SMS Pro Soccer Park scheduled for 7.45pm.

After the frustration of a 1-0 loss at home to ten-man Longridge Town three days ago, Paul Jones insists the players have responded well and are keen to put that disappointment behind them.

What's more he adds they won't let a setback like that define them in the long-term:

Tuesday evening will mark the first ever meeting of FC St Helens and FC Isle of Man with both looking for better fortunes following separate setbacks last weekend.

Along with FC Isle of Man's home defeat to Longridge Town, FC St Helens also came away empty-handed in the league for the first time this campaign on 10 August with a 3-0 home defeat to Ramsbottom United.

Tonight's hosts moved up into the NWCFL Premier Division after being crowned champions of NWCFL Division One North for 2023/24, finishing nine points clear of nearest challengers Atherton Laburnum Rovers.
