UK runners take opening event
Michael Christoforou of Edinburgh University Hare & Hounds, and Katy Hedgethorne of Cambridge Greyhounds were the winners of the opening race of the Isle of Man Easter Festival of Running last night.
The 10km race in the south of the Island started and finished on Port Erin promenade with a massive entry.
Michael took a solo win by 37 seconds with a finishing time of 30 minutes and 39 seconds - Alan Corlett of Manx Harriers was the leading local in eighth place.
Katy ran a personal best time of 36 minutes and 24 seconds to win by a 45-second margin - leading local runner was Nikki Boyd of Northern in 24th place.
