Football: Crunch fixture awaits between bottom two top-flight sides

Defending women's champions, Peel hoping to get season underway

The current bottom two in the Canada Life Men's Premier League meet in potentially crucial clash for points in this weekend's Isle of Man football action.

Foxdale - rooted to the bottom of the table and still looking for their first points of the campaign - head to newly-promoted Douglas High School Old Boys (DHSOB.) who have just the one point on the board so far.

Elsewhere, Laxey - whose match was postponed due to weather last weekend - return to action at home to Braddan with Laxey looking to keep up their unbeaten start and keep the pressure on league leaders, Corinthians.

Corinthians - three points clear a the summit - travel to St John's United.

In Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2, front-runners Castletown will be looking to make it seven wins from seven when they head to Pulrose United.

The southerners are currently four points clear at the top ahead of second-placed Colby - who are still undefeated so far - who are on the road at St George's.

On Sunday (12 October), defending Canada Life Women's League champions, Peel will be hoping to finally get their season started after several postponements in the opening few weeks of the campaign.

The western side are due to host Douglas Royal; current league leaders, Corinthians are away at Onchan and the other fixture sees a meeting of the two new sides in the division, Rushen United and Union Mills.
