Football: Div 2 top two to meet in crunch midweek clash

Castletown & Onchan face off ahead of another busy three-day schedule (Fixtures: 23-25 Apr)

The current frontrunners of DPS Ltd. Division 2 meet in a crunch clash tonight (23 April) as another busy programme of midweek Manx football fixtures get underway.

Second-placed Castletown will welcome leaders Onchan who currently hold a five-point advantage over the southern side with both having played 18 games so far.

Foxdale - sitting in third, one point behind Castletown and with three games in hand - head to Ramsey Youth Centre & Old Boys (Rycob.).

Meanwhile, Peel will be out to maintain their standing at the summit of the Canada Life Men's Premier League tonight and could go six points clear again if they overcome a tricky task against St Mary's.

Peel's nearest challengers Ayre United have been awarded a home walkover this evening against Rushen United who are unable to field a team.

At the foot of the table, Braddan's relegation from the top flight has now been confirmed as they have conceded their home fixture tonight against Corinthians.

Elsewhere, Ramsey remain in pole position in the race for the Canada Life Combination One title ahead of the latest combi fixtures tomorrow (24 April).

They lead second-placed defending champions Rushen United by four points and have a game in hand - Ramsey host Ayre United on Wednesday whilst Rushen welcome Braddan.

In Combination Two, Douglas High School Old Boys (Dhsob.) have the chance to at least temporarily go top should they beat Malew.

Wednesday night will also see either Colby or Onchan crowned Masters FA Cup winners with both to meet in the final at The Bowl.

Thursday (25 April) will see the eight remaining Under-21 sides fight it out in the quarter finals of the 2024 Cowell Cup competitions - all those matches will get underway on the night at 6.30pm.
