Peel looking to retain Premier League title

The Isle of Man domestic football league season returns this weekend.

Both league and combination divisions will be in action on Saturday, 30 August.

Canada Life Premier League champions Peel AFC beat Ayre 2-1 in the Charity Shield fixture last weekend.

The Westerners will be looking to retain their title after a closely fought battle last season saw them take the trophy by two points over Ayre.

Both Braddan and DHSOB were promoted to the first division, while St Georges and Marown were relegated to the Arden & Druggan Division 2.

Unfortunately, the second tier will be without three teams this year as Douglas Athletic, Michael United and Gymnasium will only be entering combination teams.
