Westerners seal title after draw with Corinthians
Peel have been crowned the 2022/23 Canada Life Men's Premier League champions after a 1-1 draw at home against Corinthians last night (25 April).
Matty Woods put 'The Westerners' in front on 18 minutes with a stunning 35-yard strike before Sean Doyle equalised for Corinthians in the 77th minute from close-range.
Peel - needing just one point from the game - held on for the draw to take the title despite striker, Lewis Moran being sent off in the second half.
Woods, Peel's captain, told Manx Radio what it means for the club to win the league for the first time in 21 years:
