FA says survey feedback is 'useful'
A survey by social media blog 'Upfront Footy' has revealed that 95 percent of people believe the FA could do more for women's football on the Isle of Man.
It disclosed that 50 percent of the 168 respondents were active players and 60 percent were female.
The two biggest complaints showed that many believe the women's game receives inadequate funding compared to the men's game and it was also argued there was a lack of competitive games on the Island's league.
However the survey did also highlight the recent success of the women's national team at the Cherry Godfrey Cup and the Island Games.
Chief Executive of the FA Lewis Qualtrough said: “Yes, getting feedback from the community and finding new ways to drive the women’s game forward is always useful.
"We know there has been some great successes within the women and girls' game recently but also acknowledge the challenges faced in women’s football. There is still much work to be done.
"Developing the women's and girls' game is a critical part of the IOM FA's strategy for 2024-28.
"The consultative survey we undertook in April has informed our strategy and will be launching collaboratively with the FA next month.
"We want to focus on creating a sustainable future for the women and girls' game on the Island and are always grateful for the continued support of all our players, coaches, referees and volunteers all working together."
