A bad injury to her right foot forced Zoe Gillings out of Saturday's Snowboardcross race at the Winter X-Games in Aspen, Colorado.
She sustained what was described as an "excruciatingly painful" compression injury during her second qualifying run on Friday, leaving her participation in the following day's main event in some doubt.
The Manx snowboard star decided to give it a go and was clearly in pain coming out of the gate in fifth place, but still managed to get herself into third for the majority of the course.
Approaching the penultimate jump however, Zoe was forced to drop her speed as the competitor in front of her slowed down.
This caused her to come up short of the landing area, hurting her foot further.
She was immediately taken to the medical centre for treatment and is now expected to miss the next two competitions, but hopes to be back to full fitness for the next World Cup event in Cypress, Canada on the 14th February.
