Former TT winner was taking part in event for the third time
TT competitor, James Hillier has had to withdraw from this year's Dakar Rally due to injury.
The rider from Ringwood says he suffered an arm fracture after a 'low-speed crash' around 250km into the first stage.
Following consultation with medical officials, he was advised to pull out of the remainder of the event.
In an update on social media, he says 'gutted is an understatement' but is thanking supporters and sponsors in helping him to get to the event.
The one-time TT winner has previously competed in the grueling challenge twice before in 2023 and 2025, successfully finishing on both occasions.
