Manx athlete upbeat after missing out on 800m final
Joe Reid says he's upbeat and proud despite missing out on a place in the 800m final at the European Indoor Athletics Championship.
The Manx athlete set the sixth fastest time in Friday's heats, but was unable to progress from the semi-finals last night.
In a post on social media, the 22-year-old admitted he was gutted not to make the final, but he's confident this is just the start of his journey.
After his first senior meet representing Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Reid said he's been shown some big lessons and that he can't begin to express what competing in Glasgow has taught him.
He went on to thank those who sent messages of support, saying it makes him proud to be from the Isle of Man.
