Former Altrincham FC co-chair being described as 'fantastic asset' to club
FC Isle of Man has confirmed the appointment of Lawrence Looney as a director at the club.
Mr Looney takes up the post having recently stepped down as co-chair of National League side Altrincham FC, a position he'd held for seven years.
Furthermore, he's confirmed his responsibilities will include setting up a 'three-year plan' for the club and undertake a 'full review' of its operations.
He says: "My job is to do a full review, take on as much information as possible, and build out a three-year plan.
“The board is absolutely committed to giving me that support, and hopefully, we’ll have a clear plan for what we’re going to be like in three years, five years, and beyond.
Meanwhile, the club's Vice-Chairman, Lee Dixon, adds: "We’ve had numerous conversations, and it’s an easy call to make.
“Lawrence has agreed to join the board and come into the club and he’s going to be a fantastic asset to help guide us through, hopefully, the next phase for the club.
"We recognise that we need to go to the next phase, to build a strategy that will make us more sustainable, where we can plan three, five, ten years ahead."
On the pitch, FC Isle of Man is currently running pre-season preparations ahead of the NWCFL Premier Division season which is due to start on Saturday, 26 July with a home tie against Litherland REMYCA.
