Manx archers at Indoor Nationals

A team of Manx archers travelled to the Indoor Nationals in Lilleshall at the weekend.

This two-day shoot was made up of the Compounds on Saturday and the Recurve shooting on Sunday.

Twelve-year-old Aalin George came 22nd in her first go at this level after losing to Wendy Rowell in the first knockout round.

Sarah Rigby was on fire, gaining the 10th ranking spot for the knockouts.

She made it through the first round but then lost a close encounter to Maggie Squires.

Joy Gough made it through to the quarter-finals before losing to the eventual bronze medal winner Victoria Eaton.

In the men’s event Peter Mumford and Allan George didn't get through to the knockout rounds after being ranked 62nd and 41st respectively.

Adrian Bruce lost out in the first knockout round to Chris White, who went on to win the gold medal.

In the Recurve on Sunday Dave Berry shot a personal best in his first indoor national but ranked 88th and failed to qualify, as too did Alex Snell, who was 71st.

And Charlotte George lost out to Cherry Lyne in the first knockout round after qualifying in an impressive 12th position.
