Manx Grand Prix centenary celebrations announced

Entries for 2023 event have now also opened

The events to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Manx Grand Prix later this year have been revealed.

Several additions to the schedule have been announced to mark the centenary in 2023 with the races themselves to be held on the Snaefell Mountain Course from 20-28 August.

The 'headline' attraction of the celebrations will take place on Saturday, 26 August with the 'Legends of the Manx Grand Prix' lap which will take place between the Junior MGP and Classic Senior races on the day.

It'll pay tribute to some of the riders who've graduated from the MGP over the years since its inception in 1923.

Among those being represented on the lap will be Harold Daniel, Freddie Firth, Bob McIntyre and Geoff Duke.

Meanwhile, Mick Grant, Charlie Williams, Ian Lougher, Phillip McCallen and Ian Hutchinson are among those who will celebrate their connections to the event.

The following day (27 August), a 'Show and Shine' display will be held, showcasing past and present machinery.

Elsewhere, the milestone will also be marked with the release of a commemorative coin and stamp.

Organisers have also confirmed entries for the 2023 Manx Grand Prix have now officially opened.
