
The Isle of Man Under-19s made a great start in Division Two of the ICC European Championships in Belgium yesterday (Monday) when they beat Italy by 47 runs.
Max Stokoe won the toss for the Isle of Man and decided to bat first. The team made 177 for 9 from their 50 overs with Max hitting 34 and Jack Rowlands 32. Best of the Italian bowlers was Abeywickrama with 3 for 18.
Italy looked on course for victory when they reached 77 for 4 from twenty overs, but their final six wickets fell for just 53 runs. Alex Stokoe was the pick of the Manx bowlers with 3 for 26.
Today the Island take on France in Antwerp.
