Manx Grand Prix 2009 is officially underway.
The opening practice session took place last night (Saturday).
It was an untimed session and, in fair conditions, newcomers were first out for a controlled lap before the senior, junior and lightweight bikes, followed by the post classics, classic and newcomers.
There were three incidents reported with senior rider Tim Devlin and senior classic rider Jochen Trockel both coming off at Quarter Bridge in separate incidents and newcomer Nigel Sean Rea off at Governors Bridge. All were reported as ok and were seen by the doctor as a precaution.
Practice finished at 8.10pm with dusk falling rapidly but it was still dry.
The next practice session takes place tomorrow (Monday) evening.
