Netball: IoM pleased with team progress at World Youth Cup qualifiers

The Under-21 side return to action in Cardiff this evening (27 Sept)

Isle of Man Netball says it's pleased with the progress being made by its Under-21's side despite some tough results so far at this week's World Youth Cup qualifiers.

The Manx team is facing high-calibre opposition in Cardiff and have recorded back-to-back defeats against United Arab Emirates and hosts, Wales so far.

After a day of rest yesterday (26 September) for all teams, the Island squad returns to the court to face Scotland at 7pm tonight.

Team coach Amy Griffiths is maintaining the message the scorelines aren't the priority, and that the players are doing well in meeting personal and team objectives.

Meanwhile, competitors Becca Cooke and Kenzie Pizzey think they and other squad members are gaining valuable experience against top-quality nations:

After this evening, the Isle of Man have two more games across the weekend.

First they'll face Republic of Ireland at 4pm tomorrow (28 September) before finishing their campaign against Northern Ireland at 10am on Sunday (29 September).
