Island squad facing other nations in Asia from this weekend
The Manx Rams netball team says it's looking forward to testing itself in a new challenge at an international tournament in Asia later this week.
For the first time, the Island national side will take part in the Singlife Nations Cup in Singapore which starts this Sunday (2 November) and runs until next Saturday (8 November).
It'll see them face two sides from the host nation - Singapore A and Singapore Vandas - as well as the national squads of Kenya, Malaysia and Papua New Guinea.
The Rams' co-captains, Ashley Hall and Rachel Johnstone say it's an exciting prospect to come against opposition they've never faced before and explain some of the changes the team has gone through in recent months behind the scenes:
The Singlife Nations Cup will take place at the OCBC Arena in Singapore with the first day on 2 November beginning with an opening ceremony at 2pm before the first round of matches the same afternoon.
All teams will face each other in a round-robin format from Sunday, 2 November to Friday 7 November with a rest day planned between those dates on Thursday, 6 November.
The final day on Saturday, 8 November will then involve one more match for each side based on their final group standings from the days previous.
These will include a final between the top-two placed squads as well as 3rd/4th-place and 5th/6th-place play-offs.
