Peter Hickman wins 2023 Macau Grand Prix

Dominant ride hands FHO Racing team debut victory

Peter Hickman has produced a dominant performance to win this year's Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix.

Having qualified on pole, the 13-time TT winner led from start to finish to claim his fourth Macau crown and secure a debut victory for the FHO Racing team.

Meanwhile Davey Todd, who'd also qualified on the front row for the 55th edition of the event, went on to claim second on the Burrows Engineering/RK Racing machine, marking Todd's first podium at the race.

Taking the final podium spot was German competitor David Datzer in third whilst Hickman's teammate Josh Brookes took fourth on his Macau debut - Rob Hodson secured fifth spot.

Nine-time Macau GP winner Michael Rutter - who'd started fifth - was an early retirement with mechanical issues.

The 12-lap race had to be restarted after the opening lap following an incident involving Brian McCormack and Nadieh Schoots - both were taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Elsewhere, last year's Macau GP winner Erno Kostamo who'd started in third was also a retirement during the race due to an electrical issue on his machine - David Johnson was also one of the riders forced to retire during the contest due to a brake problem.
