Records at Athletics meet

Youngsters on form

There have been some excellent athletics performances over the past week.

Stephen Garrett ran a time of 1 minute and 58.6 seconds in an 800m race - the first time he has dipped below the 2 minutes barrier.

Garrett is currently at Birmingham University.

Back at home at the Manx Harriers Track and Field League at the NSC, Alice Bell broke the Junior Women Hammer Island record with a throw of 39.86 metres.

Alice had set the old record earlier this month at the Merseyside Schools Championships.

And Megan Lockwood broke the under-17 javelin Island record with a throw of 27.37 metres.
