Seven-year lease signed
Rowany Golf Club has signed a new seven-year lease with its landlord, Port Erin Commissioners.
The news follows the near closure of the facility two years ago due to financial difficulties.
After a first full year of running the club under a different model and following the introduction of cost-saving measures, the management believes there is a more stable structure in place for the future.
Weekly work parties of members are helping to improve the course and a number of revised membership fees have been introduced to attract younger golfers.
The club is also planning to engage with secondary schools in the spring to try and grow the junior section.
