Final preparations before 25/26 season
Douglas Rugby Club were beaten by an All Ireland League side in their final pre-season fixture at the weekend.
Ulster side Ballymena made their first visit to Port-e-Chee as they recorded a 38-7 win over the hosts on Saturday (23 August).
They stretched a comfortable 19 point lead by half-time, before scoring two unanswered tries in the second 40.
The gulf in league standings showed in the first half as Douglas took their time to settle.
However, full-back Jonty Cope muscled over beneath the posts for Nathan Robson to convert as they scored their only points of the game.
Douglas' next fixture will be back in the Regional 2 North West against division newcomers, North Ribblesdale on Saturday, 6 September.
