Manx outfit sweep aside Crewe & Nantwich at Port-e-Chee
Report by Dave Christian:
Douglas beat Crewe & Nantwich 40-3 at Port-e-Chee to take their run of home wins up to four.
They bagged a try bonus point too and are now tied in seventh place with Altrincham Kersal in the Regional 2 North West standings.
A fourth-minute try from Sam McCord gave Douglas an early lead and after a period of stalemate, Bryn Snellgrove added a penalty to make it 8-0.
Charlie Henthorn went over on the cusp of half-time to make it 13-0 before Logan Lynch kicked a penalty at the other end to leave Douglas 13-0 ahead at the break.
Snellgrove added a second penalty early in the second half and from this Douglas accelerated away.
Nathan Robson and Josh Duncan both added tries but the jewel in the crown was a Sam McCord brace to complete his hat-trick.
Snellgrove converted three out of four as his side completed another solid home win.
