Rugby: Douglas stretch home streak to three wins

Ramsey run riot in Manx Shield at Mooragh Park

Report by Dave Christian:

Douglas beat Northwich 32-13 at Port-e-Chee in Regional 2 North West and have now won their last three home games and after a slow start are now in a three way tie for sixth place.

Kyle Martin, Sam McCord, Cal Dentith and Simon Hoddinott all went in for tries as Douglas picked up another bonus point.

Bryn Snellgrove converted three and added two penalties - Douglas travel to second place Bowdon next Saturday.

Depleted Vagabonds struggle at Citheroe

A combination of injury and unavailability meant Vagas were missing twenty players this week for their trip to sixth place Clitheroe in Counties 3 ADM Lancs/Cheshire.

The result predictably went Clitheroe’s way and they ran out 88-5 winners with Jon Ferguson picking up Vagas’ consolation try.

Vagas remain in twelfth place in the standings but get no respite and face Burnley at Ballafletcher next Saturday.

Ramsey rampant at Mooragh Park

Ramsey beat Southern Nomads 79-5 in the Manx Shield and led 50-0 at half time after a flawless first half.

Skipper Matt Meechan and centre Jake Richmond both ran in hat-tricks for Ramsey with other tries coming from Conor Goodall, Will Millsopp, Brayden Roche, Josh Corteen, Josh Leece, Connor Casey and Dave Keenan; Tom Moffatt converted seven.

Nomads had their moments and picked up a well-deserved consolation score from Tom Collister.
