Rushen win thriller at Corinthians

St. George's two games from Grand Slam

Rushen beat Corinthians on penalties at Ballafletcher last night to progress to the semi-finals of the Craig Heartstrong Hospital Cup.

Stephen Whitley looked to have won it for Corinthians when he scored with just five minutes to go.

But a last minute equaliser from Matty Cain put the sides level at 3-3.

It stayed that way after extra-time with Rushen eventually winning 5-4 on penalties.

Second Division Marown nearly pulled off a shock victory at Laxey.

They led 2-0 before a fight back from the home side who scored their final two goals in the last few minutes to win it 3-2.

St. George's are just two games away from securing an unprecedented third Grand Slam.

They eased past Douglas Athletic winning 6-0 at Glencrutchery Road with Calum Morrisey scoring a hat trick.

And Peel are the fourth side through to the semi-finals after a comfortable 7-1 win over Colby.
