IOM FA chief exec discusses data linking heading to dementia
Former footballers are apparently three-and-a-half times more likely to die of dementia than an average person.
The figures come from a recent study by the University of Glasgow, which has prompted Scottish FA to consider banning children under-12 years old from heading footballs in training.
A similar ban has been in force in the USA since 2015.
The English FA has set up an advisory group to research the link between dementia and heading the ball.
