Former Island player defeated in straight sets by Nuno Borges
Former Isle of Man tennis player Billy Harris has been knocked out in the second round of the Gentlemen's Singles at Wimbledon.
During today's Grand Slam contest, Harris suffered a defeat in straight sets to Nuno Borges (6-3, 6-4, 7-6).
As a result, Borges - who's ranked 37th in the ATP world standings currently - will face Karen Khachanov in the next phase.
Despite the loss, this is the furthest Harris has made it in a Grand Slam tournament after exiting in the first round of the same event in 2024.
He's also the only former Island competitor to reach the second phase of the competition.
