Record-breaking opportunities in reaching distance
Mark Cavendish will today (15 July) face the mountains for the final time in this year's Tour de France.
So far this week the 36-year-old Manxman has managed to negotiate two gruelling mountain climbs - helped by his Deceuninck Quickstep team.
Friday will see the first of two sprint opportunities which could take his total of stage wins to 35 and see him become the world record holder.
The second will be on Sunday, on the Champs Élysée, in Paris as the three week race ends.
