Doyle, McVey and McDonnell to depart at end of season
Three FC Isle of Man players will leave the club at the end of the current season.
The Manx side's confirmed club captain Sean Doyle along with Jack McVey and Ronan McDonnell will depart the team after FC Isle of Man's final match of 24/25 on Easter Saturday (19 April).
In a personal message to supporters, Doyle says he feels it's the 'right time' to move on as it's been a struggle this season to commit completely around 'work and personal commitments.'
Meanwhile McVey - who's been part of the setup since FC Isle of Man's inaugural season in 2021/22 - and McDonnell have amassed a combined 200 appearances for 'The Ravens'.
Also citing he would like to focus more time with family and friends, you can view Sean Doyle's interview on the matter HERE.
Meanwhile, McVey adds: "My favourite memory has to be scoring the first ever goal against Guernsey in the Skipton Cup in front of a sell-out crowd. That first season stands out for obvious reasons. It was a special time.
"I have no firm plans at the moment. It is a busy spell coming up, with a few trips away and my wedding in July, so I will have plenty on.
"I will play for St Mary’s locally when I can, but nothing is set in stone just yet."
Elsewhere, McDonnell - who will leave due to work commitments - also commented: "It’s been a privilege to play for the Ravens over the last few years.
"I have enjoyed testing myself against some top players that I wouldn’t have otherwise had the opportunity to come up against.
"...I will still be playing in the local game, but I will definitely be supporting the lads as much as I can. The players, coaches and volunteers of FC Isle of Man pour so much time, dedication and passion into this club.
"Their tireless work, on and off the pitch, makes everything possible and they truly deserve all the support we can give them."
FC Isle of Man's final NWCFL Premier Division game of the 24/25 season takes place this Saturday, 19 April, against West Didsbury & Chorlton at The Bowl in Douglas, kicking-off at 6pm.
