TT injuries update

Steve Mercer

Mercer now 'stable'

Injured TT rider Steve Mercer is now described as 'stable' in hospital, and is receiving ongoing assessment in Liverpool.

The 36-year-old was involved in a collision with a course car during Wednesday night's qualifying session.

In a post online, wife Caroline revealed emergency surgery on Thursday went "as well as the doctors could have hoped".

Meanwhile, sidecar driver Tony Baker has a leg fracture but is described as 'comfortable' after an incident at Sky Hill in yesterday's red flagged Sidecar TT race.

His passenger, Fiona Baker-Holden, is also described as 'comfortable', having sustained soft tissue injuries.
