Progress being made to reopen facilities
Department of Education member Bill Malarkey has provided an update on the redevelopment of the National Sports Centre following the devastating flood at the beginning of December.
Speaking during question time in the House of Keys, Mr Malarkey stated that the two sports halls will reopen on Monday 11th July with redesigned, refurbished and more accessible changing rooms.
Work on the Squash Centre is now underway and it should reopen by the end of August.
The Indoor Bowls Centre is expected to be back in operation by September.
Tenders for the work on the hockey pitch close tomorrow.
The new pitch will include a warm-up area, dugouts and seating for spectators and is due to open at the end of September.
