This week two promising young Manx cricketers are at the ICC Europe Centre of Excellence in Spain for a week’s intensive training by top international coaches.
Matty Ansell and Jack Newbury have gone, accompanied by IOM coach Mike Hebdon.
The programme includes fielding and fitness training, batting and bowling skills, net sessions, video analysis and one to one player feedback sessions.
ICC High Performance Manager Ronald Lefebvre says, "This camp is an excellent coaching initiative which provides the players with the opportunity to develop their skills under the guidance of a talented group of coaches and at the same time build lasting friendships with players from many other countries".
