Man denies punching stranger in Douglas
A court's heard a conversation in a Douglas club ended with a violent melee.
Twenty-five-year-old Callum Robert King of Mooragh Promenade in Ramsey appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse.
He pleaded guilty to one count of disorderly behaviour on licensed premises, and pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault.
Prosecution advocate Rachel Braidwood told the hearing King had been drinking in the Outback in Barrack Street in Douglas on 28 June.
In the early hours of the morning, King started talking to a man he didn't know inside the club.
But after he threatened to rip the man's head off, CCTV captured a violent struggle which left a man with blood running down his face.
After being arrested, King gave police a prepared statement denying he'd punched the man and claiming he'd been the victim of an assault.
Magistrates bailed him in the sum of £500, and he's next due to appear in court on 6 October.
