Fibre over 5G is current priority
There is no firm investment decision made on a 5G network yet.
That from Manx Telecom Chief Executive Officer Gary Lamb, who's been speaking after the company announced new owners at the end of last week.
Mr Lamb says the deal with Basalt makes them stronger and represents a massive vote of confidence for the future.
He adds that the main priority is to continue to expand the 'Fibre to the Premise' scheme.
It's currently available to over 10% of premises on the Island with an expectation it will increase to 23% by the end of this year:
