Lots of choice for students
Island students seeking university places after receiving their A-Level results, may have more choice than for several years.
A drop in the overall number of students across the UK choosing to go to university has produced a 'glut' of empty places.
That's good news for students who missed out on their first choice university, and those who did better in the exams than expected, and are taking a fresh look at what's available.
Island-wide, results showed an increase in the number of pupils achieving the exceptional A* grade - and there was a rise too, in the number of passes in the A*- B band.
School Improvement Advisor at the Department of Education Joel Smith says there's a lot of choice on offer to pupils:
