Public tribute to brave teen
A candle vigil is taking place this evening to remember an Island youngster who died from a rare genetic disorder.
Thirteen-year-old Sophie Birtles was a patient at Rebecca House and a huge social media campaign in May put her in touch with her idol, singer Katy Perry.
The event is taking place at 9.45pm near the Bottleneck car park on Douglas Promenade in front of the Tower of Refuge - which will light up pink.
