Chief Minister welcomes opportunity to engage with new MPs
The chief minister will attend the UK State Opening of Parliament today.
Alfred Cannan received the invitation from Speaker of the House of Commons Sir Lindsay Hoyle.
The event marks the formal start of a new session of the UK Parliament, with new Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer due to set out Labour's agenda.
Mr Cannan says it's an early opportunity to engage with the new intake of MPs and strengthen working relationships.
